Crown Uniform and Linen Service understands the importance of incorporating environmentally friendly business practices into our uniform services, medical scrubs services, and linen services. We are committed to the development of sustainable processes that allow us to provide outstanding uniform and linen services in ways that lessen environmental impact.
Plato Spilios, VP of Crown, says "Over the past year, our efforts have included issuing individualized coffee mugs to all of our employees, installing LED lighting, replacing our delivery fleet with "clean" diesel vehicles, and investing in a ceramic water filtration system that is saving our Boston Plant five million gallons of water a year. And although we have made great strides, we recognize there are other opportunities to continuously improve our sustainability practices."

Crown Receives Clean Green Certification
TRSA Clean Green Certification is awarded to companies that demonstrate responsible leadership in sustainable business practices. Crown has been recognized for our commitment to improving efficiencies in water and energy conservation and adopting best management practices for reusing, reclaiming, and recycling resources.
Crown Is Certified By The Sustainable Business Leadership Program
Crown is participating in the Sustainable Business Leader Program and is proud to announce our recent certification with this highly regarded Boston organization. Our commitment to the environment and sustainability has been a leading factor in our existing policies and procedures and we are looking forward to continued improvements.
Crown Receives 2012 Boston Green Award
The Annual Boston Mayor’s Green Award recognizes businesses that help make Boston a more sustainable city through better environmental practices. Our own green efforts in water conservation, energy efficiency, and waste reduction were rewarded with the 2012 Boston Green Award.
Crown Receives Second HLAC Accreditation
Crown has received two certifications from the Healthcare Laundry Accreditation Council for our laundry facilities in Boston and in Fall River, Massachusetts. We are proud to be the only healthcare laundry service in New England to have earned HLAC accreditation at two locations.
Crown is a voluntary member of the Laundry Environmental Stewardship Program. a program developed with the EPA. The LESP has helped the textile industry reduce its total energy consumption by 27% and water usage by 33%.
